In the following two articles, Ernst Gehri shows the great possibilities offered by the use of glued-in rods for connections where high performance in terms of strength and rigidity is required.

An optimized design of the GSA and the combination with a specially developed, strong epoxy adhesive ensures ductile behavior. High-performance joints are always the result of a suitable rod arrangement: alignment along the forces acting in the connection and consideration of the specific properties of the wooden parts to be joined are essential.
